AIRPORT
José Martí Airport (HAV) is 15 miles south-west of Havana.
The best way to get from the Havana airport is by taxi. It takes a little over two hours and costs 80-100 CUC.
Chartered Shuttle bus:
Many travelers arriving in Havana by air already have the transfers pre-arranged by a tour operator and included in their vacation package. If it's your case, then when you exit the terminal you will be greeted by your Tour Operator representative who will show you which shuttle bus to board for the transfer to your hotel.
Taxi:
Taxis are always available from the taxi ranks in front of all the terminal buildings. A taxi ride from the airport to downtown Havana takes approximately 20-30 minutes and costs 20-25 CUC one-way (equivalent to $20-25 USD).
Always agree the fare first, some taxis have meters but they are rarely switched on.
Public Buses:
There's no public bus (Viazul or other) service to/from the International Terminal (3).
You'll find a VIAZUL bus station in the Vedado district of Havana, approximately 15 km from the airport. Viazul has a kiosk in the Arrivals Hall where you can buy tickets but you then have to get to the bus station by taxi.
Local buses are available at Terminal 1 (Domestic Terminal) but payment is required in Cuban National Pesos (CUP), not in CUC (convertible pesos), which makes them more difficult for visitors to use. There's a shuttle bus between terminals.
Travel times by road:
Havana Airport to downtown Havana: approximately 30 minutes
